While following the centuries-old traditional cinnamon processing methodologies, which use mostly the womanpower from marginalized women in the vicinity, Cenica ensures the adherence of the production process to the highest level of food safety & hygiene, cleanliness, and all other GMP protocols. GMP is an annually renewed certification, which is subject to a strict surveillance annual audit for renewal.
The Export Development Board of Sri Lanka (EDB) has awarded its highest certification named Pure Ceylon Cinnamon (PCC) to Cenica Cinnamon Sticks and Cinnamon Powder. Pure Ceylon Cinnamon certification grants the right for the premier trademark for finest Ceylon Cinnamon that brings the entrusted to the world. The ‘Pure Ceylon Cinnamon’ certification mark can be used only by PCC-certified producers like Cenica on their consumer cinnamon packs/value-added products such as Cinnamon in packets, bags, cartons, canisters tablets, powder, etc containing Pure Ceylon Cinnamon manufactured in Sri Lanka. PCC is an annually renewed certification, which is subject to a strict surveillance annual audit for renewal.
In February 2022, Ceylon cinnamon was granted Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status by the European Union, recognizing its unique qualities and origin. Cenica proudly received the prestigious PGI certification in the very first batch, affirming our commitment to excellence in the plantation, production, and export of authentic Ceylon cinnamon. Cenica is a registered food facility under the U.S Food & Drug Administration (FDA). Such registration of Cenica has been done by way of a Unique Facility Identifier (UFI) through a DUNS number. FDA registration gives confidence to the importers on the unique recognition of the producer and it is mandatory when the products are entered into most developed markets such as the United States of America.
